Cloud DMA for Fortnite explained
What cloud DMA does, latency tradeoffs and firmware requirements in plain language.
Cloud DMA sounds exotic until you break it down: a DMA device reads game memory, but part of that pipeline runs on hosted hardware so your daily PC carries fewer cheat-related hooks.
What stays on your desk
You still need compatible DMA hardware, firmware Epic has not broken, and a clean Windows install. Cloud does not mean “no hardware”—it means split architecture.
Latency and stability
Hosted reads add network hops. For Fortnite’s fast TTK, double-digit ms spikes matter. Use wired Ethernet on both PCs and pick the closest region slot.
Compare with the standard Fortnite cheat suite if you do not want firmware maintenance. DMA is a tradeoff, not a strict upgrade.
